Introductory Note: PMR
is not now, nor has it ever been a member of
the Europa/CEPT organisation. Therefore the
country is not entitled to issue stamps
using their devices or emblems. ALL issues
for PMR purporting to be "Europa" issues
are, in fact, bogus and manufactured by
private concerns for speculative purposes
only. The postal administration of the PMR
denies the validity of these issues and they
may not be used for postal services within
the borders of the PMR.
This being said, the print
run quantities of these issues seem to be
kept quite small and the quality can be
extremely high. There is a large demand for
this material by collectors world-wide and
the PMR Europa issues can fetch prices
equalling and even exceeding those of
genuine Europa issues from other countries.
Therefore, as a service to collectors of PMR
stamps I have
decided to list all of the known PMR Europa
material in a separate sub-catalogue.
I use the PMR Stamps (Pst) catalogue numbers
with the prefix
"E" - for Europa.
Caution: Under FIP regulations,
bogus issues of this type will not be
allowed entry into exhibitions organised
under the FIP umbrella. The FIP wishes to
discourage the practice of issuing bogus
stamps for purely speculative purposes. The
FIP recommends that collectors do not take
any of this material into their collections.
Any collection that contains this type of
material will be disqualified from receiving
FIP awards.
